Biography:  Dr Alain Wuethrich is a NHMRC Emerging Leadership fellow and DECRA awardee at the Centre for Personalised Nanomedicine, AIBN, UQ. Alain obtained his PhD in Chemistry in 2016 from the University of Tasmania, after which he joined UQ as a Swiss National Science Foundation fellow under the mentorship of Prof Matt Trau. His multidisciplinary research develops diagnostic tools that harness nanotechnology and microfluidics to deliver patient-specific molecular profiles for precision medicine. Currently, his research focuses on the development of highly sensitive and multiplexed systems to study extracellular vesicles in cancer, detect immune toxicities in cancer and infectious diseases, and monitor aberrant protein phosphorylation in lung cancer.

About School research seminars

Seminars cover all aspects of chemistry and molecular biosciences and are delivered by visiting national and international academics. PhD completion seminars are also incorporated into the program.

Seminars are usually held in person and via zoom. All are welcome to attend.
