The Global Virus Network - a coalition comprised of leading virologists working to advance knowledge about viruses, developing drugs and vaccines - has put a spotlight on the work of UQ's Associate Professor Alexander Khromykh. Dr Khromykh has been working with SARS-CoV-2 in Biosafety Level 3 facilities at UQ, collaborating closely with other researchers and industry partners in evaluating vaccine candidates, antiviral drugs and disinfectants by using a range of viral assays.
