Local research higher degree students do not pay tuition fees. International students are liable for tuition fees. Fees and costs
The UQ Graduate School offers scholarships to outstanding domestic and international students. Scholarships are awarded in three rounds per year. Your application for scholarship will be considered once you receive an unconditional offer of a PhD or MPhil place.
SCMB Research Scholarships
SCMB offers stipend support at the value of the Australian Postgraduate Award to selected RHD candidates. Applicants must be nominated by their principal advisor who agrees to cover 50% of the cost of the living allowance. Eligible applicants must have an unconditional offer of a PhD or MPhil place from the UQ Graduate School. International applicants who are offered an SCMB scholarship may be eligible for fee support.
SCMB RHD Support Fund
SCMB supports RHD candidates by offering a grant of up to $6,000 per PhD student and $3,000 per MPhil student, primarily for conference travel. For example, to attend one national and one international conference in the second or third year of their PhD. Awards are subject to eligibility and good performance.
SCMB Research Travel Awards
SCMB offers a number of competitively awarded travel awards to support short term international placements and conference travel.
Graduate School International Travel Awards
The Graduate School offers travel awards to enable candidates to travel overseas to develop additional skills, enhance the quality of their thesis, or develop international research linkages. Two rounds per year.
