student recruitemtnOn Sunday 5 August, The University of Queensland welcomed visitors to its St Lucia campus.

Hundreds of prospective students and their families took the opportunity to find out more about studying Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences at UQ.

Academic staff were on hand at the UQ Centre to answer questions about studying and researching at UQ.

For the first time there was also a interactive display "Parasites in Focus", which was popular with children and adults interested in how parasitic freeloaders interact with their hosts.

Laboratory excercises in the Chemistry Building provided a fun way for school students to learn about cross-linked polymers, ferrofluids, DNA extraction and much more.

At the experimental Chemistry Magic show, families saw how "elephant’s toothpaste" is made and the weird things liquid nitrogen does to everyday objects.
