RHD candidate Elena Virtue awarded 2006 Ausbiotech award
Elena Virtue, Research Higher Degree candidate with the School of Molecular and Microbial Sciences was awarded the 2006 Ausbiotech Queensland Student's Awards for Excellence for her research project presentation on “Rapid Diagnosis of Known and Emerging Influenzas with Human Health Implications”. The State Awards for Excellence (sponsored by Glaxo Smith Kline) provided funding in support of registration, airfares and accommodation to attend the 2006 Ausbiotech National Conference, "Bridging Innovation and Investment", held in Sydney November 19th to November 22nd, 2006. The State Awards for Excellence were presented at this conference. The 2006 Ausbiotech National Conference program included presentations by Nobel Prize Laureate, Professor Robin Warren; UQ, IMB Professor John Mattick; Professor Ian Frazer and Australian and International biotechnology professionals.
