Qld Titration Comp Finals held in SMMS

Fifteen high school teams competed 18 October in the Royal Australian Chemical Institute’s Titration Competition Queensland finals. Pictured in one of SMMS’s undergraduate Chemistry labs is the winning team from Beenleigh State High School (L to R: Rebecca Hill, Vishnu Mistry and Sophie Monement). Associate Professor Trevor Appleton, who has a long association with the Titration competitions and is a key organiser, said that of the 15 teams, five were rated as ‘excellent’. Equivalent competitions were held in other states of Australia and he expected Beenleigh’s result to be in the top 5 in the nation.
